Buy Tylex Cd Codeine is a medication with analgesic and antipyretic properties, it contains paracetamol and codeine.

What does Tylex CD contain and how does it work

It is a combined preparation containing 500 mg of paracetamol and 30 mg of codeine. Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. It works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase 2 in the brain and in the spinal cord, an enzyme responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Paracetamol has no anti-inflammatory effect as it practically does not inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenases and prostaglandin synthesis in peripheral tissues. Tylex CD does not damage the gastric mucosa. It does not inhibit platelet aggregation and does not affect the coagulation process. The second component of the Tylex is codeine (30mg), an opioid analgesic that acts on the central nervous system. Codeine is metabolized to the active metabolite – morphine, with the participation of the 2D6 cytochrome P450 isoenzyme. The analgesic effect of codeine may not be sufficient in some people. On the contrary, in the case of increased activity of this isoenzyme, there is a risk of opioid toxicity, even at the usual recommended doses.

The preparation exhibits a longer and stronger analgesic effect than each of the active substances used alone. After oral administration, paracetamol and codeine are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration of Tylex CD paracetamol in the blood is obtained after 30-60 minutes, and codeine – 60 minutes after taking the preparation. Both components of the preparation penetrate the placenta and also into breast milk.

Uses of Tylex CD

Tylex is indicated for moderate to severe persistent pain after the use of pain relievers with peripheral action (the drug is not effective in the treatment of phantom pain, neurogenic).

Tylex CD codeine is indicated in teenagers after 12 years of age, for the treatment of moderate acute pain that does not disappear with paracetamol alone or with other pain relievers used as monotherapy, such as ibuprofen.
